HAPPENTELL PRIVACY POLICY

Effective date: 19 March 2026
Controller: Colosse Sàrl
Address: Rue de Lausanne 56, 1202 Genève, Switzerland
Email: admin@colosse.ch

1. The short version

We collect the data we need to run Happentell, keep it secure, improve it, and stop it turning into a spam carnival.

We do not aspire to become one of those platforms that stares into your soul, assigns you to a psychological pigeonhole, and auctions your attention to the highest bidder.

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you may have.

Because Happentell is based in Switzerland, our data practices should comply with the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection. Depending on where users are located, other laws may also apply.

2. Who is responsible for your data

The controller responsible for your personal data is:

Colosse Sàrl

Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies, session storage, or similar tools to keep you logged in, remember preferences, understand service performance, and maintain security.

4. Why we use your data

We may use personal data to:

  • create and manage accounts
  • operate the platform
  • display your profile and content to other users according to your settings and the product design
  • authenticate users and secure accounts
  • detect abuse, spam, fraud, bots, and unlawful behaviour
  • moderate content and enforce our Terms
  • provide support
  • improve features, design, and platform stability
  • communicate with users about service changes, security, updates, or legal matters
  • prepare the transition from alpha / beta to a future live paid service
  • comply with legal obligations
  • protect our rights, users, and infrastructure

5. Legal basis or justification for processing

Where required by applicable law, we process personal data on one or more of the following grounds:

  • to provide the service you requested
  • to protect platform security and integrity
  • for our legitimate interests in operating and improving Happentell
  • to comply with legal obligations
  • where applicable, based on your consent

Under Swiss data protection law, processing should respect personality rights and be proportionate to the purpose.

6. Alpha / beta reality check

Happentell is currently in alpha / beta.

That means:

  • features are experimental
  • data structures may evolve
  • content or settings may change unexpectedly
  • bugs may affect visibility, access, storage, or deletion
  • some processes may be more manual than they will be later

We still take privacy seriously, but the service is not yet the final polished version.

The future official version of Happentell is expected to be paid, and our data practices may evolve as the service matures. If they do, we’ll update this policy.

7. What we do not aim to do

As a matter of platform philosophy, Happentell does not aim to become a behavioural manipulation engine.

In particular, we do not currently position Happentell as a platform built around:

  • selling personal data
  • behavioural advertising profiles
  • dark patterns designed to maximise compulsive usage
  • surveillance-heavy engagement design

If that ever changes in a material way, we will need to say so clearly, because sneaking that in would be rank.

8. Who we share data with

We may share personal data only where needed, including with:

  • hosting providers
  • infrastructure and security providers
  • analytics or technical service providers
  • payment providers, if and when the paid version launches
  • legal, regulatory, or law enforcement authorities where required
  • professional advisers, where reasonably necessary

We require service providers to process personal data only for appropriate purposes and with appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell your personal data in the ordinary meaning of “sell”.

9. International data transfers

Your personal data may be processed in Switzerland and, depending on our service providers, in other countries.

Where required, we will take appropriate steps to protect transferred personal data, such as contractual safeguards or use of providers operating in jurisdictions recognised as adequate or otherwise protected under applicable law.

10. Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including service operation, security, moderation, legal compliance, dispute handling, and backup integrity.

Different categories of data may be kept for different periods.

For example:

  • account data may be kept while your account is active
  • moderation and abuse records may be kept longer where needed for safety
  • logs may be retained for security and technical diagnostics
  • backups may persist for a limited period even after deletion requests

11. Your rights

Depending on where you are and which laws apply, you may have rights to:

  • request access to your personal data
  • request correction of inaccurate data
  • request deletion of certain data
  • object to certain processing
  • request restriction of processing
  • request data portability, where applicable
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • complain to a competent supervisory authority

To exercise your rights, contact us at admin@colosse.ch.

We may need to verify your identity before responding.

12. Account deletion

You may request deletion of your account.

Please note:

  • some content may remain visible if it has been reshared, quoted, or integrated into platform threads
  • some records may remain in backups, logs, moderation files, or legal archives for a limited period
  • deleting an account does not necessarily erase every trace instantly across all systems

That’s not us being slippery. That’s how real systems work.

13. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

That said, no internet service is perfectly secure, and no security claim worth trusting is written in all caps.

If we become aware of a serious security incident affecting your personal data, we may notify affected users and relevant authorities where required by law.

14. Children

Happentell is not intended for users under 16.

We do not knowingly allow children under 16 to use the service. If we learn that such data has been collected unlawfully, we may delete the account and associated data.

If the service becomes likely to be accessed by children, higher privacy protections and design obligations may apply.

15. EU and platform reporting issues

If Happentell is offered to users in the EU, platform-related obligations may apply concerning illegal content reporting, moderation transparency, and user safeguards. We may adapt our processes accordingly.

16. Cookies and analytics

We may use essential cookies and similar technologies to:

  • keep you logged in
  • maintain session security
  • remember settings
  • understand basic service performance
  • measure technical reliability and usage trends

Where non-essential cookies or analytics require consent under applicable law, we will ask for it.

17. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If the changes are material, we may notify you by email, on the platform, or through another reasonable method.

The updated version will always show the effective date.
